training programme for February to March 2010.

Awards for All Workshop
Date:
Thursday 4th February 2010

As
places are limited, initially only one booking
per organisation will be accepted.
This session
being delivered by Fenland CVS is specifically
designed to give an overview of the Awards for
All Programme and is ideally suitable for
groups who are considering applying to Awards
for All in the near future. It will
enable participants to have a greater
understanding of the key features of the
programme and what makes an application
fundable.
The morning will

Question & Answer session
Your organisation
can apply to Awards for All if you are a:
Grants range from
£300 to £10,000 and projects must help achieve
one or more of the following BIG Outcomes:

People having better chances
in life with better access to training and
development to improve their life skills
-
Stronger communities with
more active citizens working together to
tackle their problems
-
Improved rural and urban
environments which communities are better
able to access and enjoy
-
Healthier and more active
people and communities
Many
organisations can apply to Awards for All but if
you are unsure, before booking a place, we
strongly recommend that you contact us at the
FCVS as your project could be better suited to a
different funder.

HEALTH & SAFETY

one or both sessions. Lunch will only be provided
for those attending both sessions.
As places are limited,
initially only one booking per organisation will be
accepted.
Health & Safety Legislation
9.00am - 1.00pm
A chance to
refresh and update your knowledge of current health
and safety legislation. Recent changes to first aid
regulations place even greater responsibility on
employers. This session will bring you back up to
speed with these and many other changes that have
taken place recently, as well as highlight changes
we need to be aware of for the future. . At the end
of the session there will also be the opportunity to
gain answers to your own health and safety issues
and other related questions you may have.

Risk Assessment
2.00pm - 4.30pm
Although it is a legal requirement in its own right,
an organisations risk assessment is something that
is often neglected. Sometimes its time, sometimes
its lack of understanding exactly what is required,
for whatever reason they are often not completed at
all or completed badly. . This session will show you
how a risk assessment can easily be completed and
not remain an onerous task whether you are starting
from scratch or building on an existing one.

Booking Conditions
To book
a place on any event
please click
here to download a booking form.
Please note that, when
returning the booking form, a £10 per person booking
fee is required to secure a place. Please make your
cheque payable to Fenland CVS. This will be returned
to attendees on the day of the course providing all
conditions have been met, or will be returned by
post if at least 48 hours of notice of cancellation
has been given.

Bookings will be taken on
a first-come, first-serve basis and priority
will be given to charities and voluntary &
community groups working in Fenland.

As places will be limited,
initially no more than 1 booking per
organisation can be accepted but in the event
that a session is under-subscribed, extra places
could be available. We will operate a reserves
policy for over-subscribed courses.

All attendees must commit
to attend the whole course.
-
It is a condition of the
funding we receive that attendees complete a
short evaluation form at the start and end of
the course to enable us to receive feedback from
the day.

All venues are fully
wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you
have any other requirements to enable you to
participate in courses.
All the above training is
provided free of charge (including lunch for
whole day sessions) to paid staff,
volunteers and trustees of our member
groups, charities and voluntary or community
groups working in Fenland.
